How to setup your town

As we have previously learned in the Hyperfarming guide, town setup is important and it affects our game experience.

But it also reflects how we play.

Aside from how we setup our town to get resources , we need to set it up for war!

There are two possible setups :

  • AGRESSIVE SETUP

With this town setup our aim is to never get attacked but always be the attacker or the one providing the reinforcements.

Actual building setup is as follows :

12 Manors
2 Barracks
1 Infirmary
1 War Bloc
1 Workshop
1 Forge
1 Hero's abode

PROS:

Each level on a manor speeds up any army training by 1%.

Any troops you might lose while attacking will not get healed anyway but go straight to the resurection tab in the infirmary. The resurection tab does not have a limit to how many troops it can hold, unlike the healing tab.

With this setup you can afford resurecting troops only when special resurection events happen and you can raise the dead at a discount.

You can mass train troops because manors provide a hefty time reduction on training.

You can hyperfarm silver because manors are also the building responsible for producing silver in town.

Cheaper to pull off in terms of resources and more efficient while attacking enemies.

CONS:

You are limited in attacking by the Shrine of Odin level.

If you drop shield, most of your army is lost because of low infirmary capacity.

At early levels you will end up losing alot of troops while attacking.

Attacking in this game is expensive because of the need for relocation + shield right after attack so each attack will atleast cost you one shield refresh.

  • DEFENSIVE SETUP
This is a more tricky one to pull off but the main goal here is to lure enemies into attacking you and failing the attack therefore bringing you points in competitions or simply bragging rights for defending against many attackers.

Actual town setup:

12 Infirmaries
2 Barracks
1 Manor

1 War Bloc
1 Workshop
1 Forge
1 Hero's abode

PROS:

You can afford to slack on shielding.

With enough knowledge upgrades and good hero gear and of course troops you are unbreakable.

You can catch people by surprise if they attack you without scouting first.

With the help of your clan you can set traps up in Clan Versus Clan or Kingdom Versus Kingdom , traps that can give you alot of points.

You can build your army as big as you like because you do not need to worry about march size.

You will always be able to heal troops with resources instead of spending gold to resurrect them.

CONS:

You need a high level town for Wall defense and Watchtower defense bonuses.

You need a separate hero gear set.

You need to keep the Mead Hall at highest level possible at all times to be able to host a lot of reinforcements.

You need to train alot of scouts and learn scout knowledge to keep the enemy from gaining information about your army size.

Sometimes people just will not attack you so your whole tactic will not work.

You are limited to keeping as many troops in your town as possible at all times while without a shield to ensure you are not losing out on defensive forces.

These are the two town setups in terms of combat playstyle. If  you have any questions please post them in the comment section and don't forget to subscribe to our blog to keep up to date with any new tactics or guides.
